Dear Dr. Nelligan:

I still cannot escape the wheel chair and walker. Would
you kindly provide me with a statement to that affect that I
may give that to the Palo Alto Orthopedic people. Thank you.

I enclose an article that I wrote sometime ago, dated
August 22, 1990, but you might find it interesting.

Sincerely,
Robert H. Little, M.D.

Dear Vaughn and Mary,

I was delighted to get the story of your activities
dated December 1989. Ever since you moved away, I've been
looking forward to seeing you, along with your children and
grandchildren. I was sad to hear about the death of Richard
Butera, killed in a crash of his own airplane. Such a thing
is frightful. It leaves a scar in ones soul..

What you have done sounds very sensible.

Selling your sailing ketch the Tynamara was sad, but the
Tynamara was like a living creature. You milled the
beautiful wood. You and your family installed it - you grew
and milled the holly which made the beautiful white strips
between the teak.

I remember your grandson Jason, and his father. Jason
is practically grown up now and I'm sure he looks wonderful.

For mental stability, it is important to fill ones memory
bank with fine people. You and Mary and your family and the
things you do and the wonderful activities you carry out on
the ranch and everywhere, fill a big niche in my memory bank.

Sir Bertrand Russell said that the main cause of
unhappiness is jealousy, and the antidote is admiration. My
sister Dorothy died in 1978. I was never the same again.

I still long to come and visit you and keep thinking
about it. Especially the big party and get-together to which
you invited me. I enclose a couple of articles. One is
called "The Voice of the Enemy".

With friendship and admiration.

Sincerely,
Robert
