Dear People:

I appreciate the waiting room copies of your
health journal. I was deeply impressed by the article
LIFE in the WASTELAND by William Body in the May June issue.

Like any normal person I am concerned about the ghastly
events at the Nuclear Reactor at Chernobyl. I have a nephew
and his family living in Finland. The deadly clouds blew
over their country.

The big question. Can our country get along without nuclear
Reactors. The answer is yes.

l. Raise the price of gasoline to at least three dollars a
gallon.

2. A heavy tax on air conditioners in cars.

3. Air conditioners in schools, offices , factories etc.are
often unnecessary or badly designed.

4. Better designed buildings and more use of fans.

5. In warm areas people can learn to live with the climate.
Air conditioners cause much bad health.

6. Presently our society depends too much on automobiles.
We might allow people to live in exclusive neighborhoods.
and worry less about creating a mix of people. They could
 stay home more.

7. It is a long story, but too many people live too far from
their work. I am working on a book about survival. I
offer many solutions to this problem.

8. With higher gasoline prices, alternative sources of energy
 will develop more strongly.

9. Stop shipping strawberries from California to New York.
They can grow better ones in the Hudson River Valley and
with little or no irrigation. It is what the Chinese
call regional self sufficiency. (We might learn a lot
 from the Chinese}

I am totally against nuclear reactors as a source of energy.
They are all dangerous and mostly not needed. We are
destroying our wonderful planet as it is. Let us make it
safer.

Sincerely
