The State of Our Society

There appears to be a rising concern about the state of our
society. Many people are unhappy about the actions of our
elected representatives... They are not satisfied with the
way we choose people in the primaries and the actual
elections.

People have been on earth about 3 million years. Has a
workable way developed in that time? My deep conviction
is that there has been a better time.

People are the supreme group mammals. At one time society
was made up of small local groups. Possibly about 4000
years ago. Apparently there were countless social
groups. Some of which developed cultures worth passing on
for generations.. Groups that did not develop a good plan
would have a poor future,

What happened? Times of conquest. Centralized powers
tend to be jealous of the power of small group culture and
may crush them.

The Romans eliminated countless small nations as had other
predatory powers before them.

Right now, the schools and colleges talk of a multicultural
society. The politicians, the churches and many racial
groups clamor for elimination of cultural groups. Claiming
that the more people mix up the better.

How did the centralized powers become so influential?

Part of it 2 as the development of weapons. At one time
they were relatively simple. Like wooden spears. Slings,
Bows and arrows. Bronze and steel weapons changed this.

Wild horses were tamed and bred, so that a team could pull a
chariot. Finally horses were big enough to ride. Cavalry
became important in conquests.

1. Weapons became more deadly. Wooden spears, slings, bow
and arrow. bronze swords and spears, then iron and steel.

2. Wild horses were tamed and bred so that a team could pull
chariot. Finally horses were big enough to ride. Hence
cavalry which were important in conquests. Gun powder changed all that.

3. Right now, weapons are so deadly that thinking about them
almost numbs the mind.

Right now. survival of society may depend on preserving
cultural values. However. perpetuating the destructive
features in society has become a way of life for too many
people.

Without discipline, there is no freedom. Without cultural
values there is no discipline.

There is no mystery as to how people should govern themselves
but the so-called civilized world is choosing chaos rather
than freedom.

I do not like this article. I have studying the problems of
society for most of my life. I have written about 500
pages.

I have lived a long time and hope to publish a book

My mother was age 39 when I was born. My father age 38.
He was a scholar. We called him the ENCYCLOPEDIA.
I think much like he did.

There are many people who think much as I do but we are not
politically significant. But I still have a guarded optimism

I will include some articles and letters that are in harmony
with my convictions.
