Dear Friends who helped me celebrate my birthday. You were
joyful with each other which added to my joy. I liked the
conversation and the humor. You were bright people who
talked without fear. We could think out loud. I made up
a haiku verse on this theme,
Working with strangers.
How I long to work with friends.
I could think out loud.
We talked about Greece in the times of Plato. How did they
develop their language and literature without colleges.
Apparently a group of men would meet outside in some pleasant
spot and talk about all kinds of things related to their
city. One of the older men might act a leader but there
were always younger men. Over the years, they could create
what I call a group mind.
I like to think that as a group, younger ones might learn
from us. I have learned from you as individuals. I
appreciate it. I look forward to another get-together.
It was good fun.
With admiration and friendship.
Sincerely.
Robert.
